When will I start to feel full??
I had surgery on 4/9 and still on full liquid diet. I can't tell when I feel full. When does that kick in. My computer is blocking up so it won't let me search here for my answer and I know I seen it before. Thanks
It varies from person to person. You will invariably get an answer about the nerves being cut during surgery, but it is much more difficult to feel full when you are on liquids that are just going through your pouch into your intestines. You don't FEEL full because your pouch doesn't GET full. It is like a funnel. I was eating soft food three days after surgery, though, and eating solid food by a week out, and I could definitely feel when I was full at that point in time. Most of my surgeon's other patients reported the same experience, so I think the liquids versus solids affects it more than cut nerves healing.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

so is it strange that I feel full constantly? :/
I might add that I still feel VERY bloated and maybe that's why???
Im right along with you.. I dont feel full. I had surgery on 3/13 and have progressed through the full liquid diet - onto soft foods and now "real" food, but I dont feel the sensation of being full. Ive heard many reasons for this-- they all make sense.. the vagus nerve being cut, the pouch as a funnel for liquids.. Im hoping I get that feeling back soon... best of luck to you!
