Deli meats with my soft food diet, so 6 weeks post op. same with mac and cheese, but only maybe 2-3 bites after I ate my protein. Never had gravy and noodles, but I try not to eat noodles because of the carbs. Pizza I have had a few times. I will eat one piece of pizza, no crust and the the cheese off of another piece. I am 8 months out and pizza is only a special occasion food.

We do cauliflower crust pizza all the time. It is pretty good. Sometimes the boys want real pizza so we do a thin crust with meats. We had Pizza last night for dinner, with boneless buffalo wings. For the mac n cheese I found an awesome version made with cauliflower. http://pinterest.com/pin/70791025365208051/.  Deli meats I can sometimes with cheese slices and cucumbers. I was doing those once I got to 4 weeks i believe. Dont really do noodles.

Tonight for dinner I made, Chocolate chip waffles, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns. I eat 2 poached eggs with 1 piece of bacon and 1 piece of buttered toast. It was pretty good. Simple, but the kids wanted waffles. I am 7 moths Post-op

If you like mashed potatoes you can try mashed cauliflower instead. http://pinterest.com/pin/70791025364373476/

Noodles with gravy? Why would you want to? Not a great choice, but if you can eat scrambled eggs you should have no issue

Pizza? I had a slice at 9 months. Not a great choice as everyday food

Anything else on the list should be fine at 2 months out.

It is far too early for you to be concerned with when you can have those items again.  Other than the deli meat, these things should be reserved for once you are done losing (and eaten rarely if at all).  IMO the noodles with gravy should be completely out because it has NO protein, but is very high in fat and carbs.

I know that this will aggravate some people (and you may be one of them), but I will tell you that posts like this, where people are fresh out of surgery and asking about how soon they can eat the kinds of foods that made them obese in the first place sends up a huge red flag for me.  This surgery is not magic and requires a permanent change to your eating habits in order to be successful long term.  (You will lose weight no matter what you eat for about 6 months, but once your caloric malabsorption is gone at 18-24 months out, you have to rely on your healthy eating habits (and smaller portions) to KEEP the weight off.  People who dont really embrace the chance to re-learn how to eat are often the ones who come back at 2 or 3 years out with weight regain.  The first step to changing your eating habits is to change your mindset, and if you are focused on when you can start eating high fat, high carb foods again, that is going to make things much more difficult for you.. and I want you (and everyone else) to have the best chance for being successful lo term!

p.s.  I am 5.5 years out and had Greek yogurt and some fruit for dinner.  Nothing else sounded good.

I am 16 days post op and had 2 T fat free refried beans  with Greek yogurt and a little hot sauce for dinner, it was good.  I was not able to fini**** all.

I would talk to your Nutritionist about the timetable for foods.  Mine says you can eat --------, but why would you want to?  Just fill in the blank with foods that aren't healthy.

Pizza - I think I first ate that about three or four months out, thin crust, mostly just ate the toppings.

Deli meats - Don't eat meat, haven't had that in more than 25 years

Mac n Cheese - I don't remember when I first tried that.  Maybe a year out?  My pouch doesn't care for pasta too much.  I can eat it, just a very small amount, and it feels too heavy in my pouch.

Noodles with gravy - I don't think I've ever eating gravy on noodles.  But I first had pasta maybe four or five months out and my pouch doesn't like it very much.

Tonight I had Chipotle for dinner - a burrito bowl with a little brown rice, black beans, peppers and onions, cheese, green chili salsa, and a little bit of guacamole.

MMmmmmm Chipotle! I bet a burrito bowl from there would last me 6 weeks! At least at this stage of the game.

I haven't been to one of those in probably almost a year. I love their food. I didn't know they had brown rice though so if I ever do get around to going there I will have to keep that in mind.

They got brown rice a few months ago.  You now get a choice of white or brown.
