Food Talk: When were you able to??
Monday will be two weeks for me, too. I am still drinking protein shakes and eating liquids, such as soups, yogurt,... I can have soft food next week. Tonight my family went out to eat for my daughter's birthday. I ordered grilled salmon just to see if I could tolerate it. I picked out tender peices and mashed them, then chewed and chewed. I ate about two table spoons of the salmon and stopped. I tolerated it well and just enjoyed the fellowship. I did not miss the food, and drank my protein wane I got home.
I try to follow the plan from the Dr. and Nut. Protein is first, and I have to work at getting enough of it.
I don't see those items on my diet plan, ever.
I wish you well, though.
You are planning to never ever eat pizza, deli meat, or noodles, ever again?

Deli meat didn't agree with me til 3 mo out, still can't eat roast beef my fave. I was allowed to eat it at reg food stage.
Mac and cheese haven't had it and won't probably ever. Pasta I eat very limited like 10 spaghetti noodles in a half cup of meat sauce with cheese. No other noodles and I use the plus ones that
have protein in them.
I only had 1/4 cup potatoes 3 times before they were allowed on my plan at 6 months and one of those times was thanksgiving.
Tonight I had 4 oz skirt steak with garlic on it yummy! for dinner no sides, because no room after the steak and I had carbs at lunch.
I am just 5 weeks out. I have been eating a slice of deli meat for a couple weeks rolled up with cheese.
For supper, I had 2 oz of chili with some cheese on top.
I had part of a turkey burger with cheese but no bun and about 10 sweet potato fries. I needed some carbs because I walked a 5 k today. I had surgery about 8 months ago and have had only 2 tiny bites of pasta just this week. By the way it felt like a sponge in my pouch so I will be staying away from that! Your focus needs to be protein if you want to get to goal and stay there.
I would suggest staying away from the mac and noodles till your at your goal then only a few bites after your protein. pasta in general sits heavy in my pouch so I dont eat it.
Deli meats are great for easy meals. I like to make a roll up with light cream cheese and dill pickle.
I have had pizza a few times since surgery. I eat the toppings off, throw away the bottom and give the crust to DS.
I had half a lg buger patty with cheese, mayo, mustard and pickle slices for dinner last night.
I can eat what I make for my family now at 7 mths post op. I have some of the meat and some veggie, usually skip the startch but not always.
