Time off

How much time did you take off?

I work a desk job but it is 10 hours a day for 4 days. I am thinking a week...Should I plan on more??

Most people seem to take two to four weeks.

I had surgery Wednesday and had no issues. No way would I be ready to go back to work this week.

I'm a teacher. I took 2 weeks off. I was tired when I went back and took a nap every afternoon, but it wasn't horrible.

I took 4 days off and would not recommend that to anyone else.  I felt good the first week, but have struggled with being tired ever since.  If I had it to do over again, I would take at least 2 week, as my Dr. Recommend.

I took 6 weeks off. At 4 weeks postop I got a stricture and went back into the hospital for 5 days.  I needed the 6 weeks and I was so happy I took them!  I think I was JUST ready to be back at that 6 week mark!

Oh....P.S. I have a desk job as well. :)

I took 2 full weeks and worked a third week half days.

My doc advises 7-10 days and will only write 3 weeks at most. I took7 days wish I would have taken 2 after I went back. I came home and napped daily

6 weeks. I work 12 1/2 hour shifts as an RN on an Ortho unit. Lots of lifting, walking, bending down. Plus no regular sleep. I was weak as a kitten  the first few weeks. it would have killed me to go back sooner.
