What a headache getting approved

I've been ready for WLS for over a year now . Insurance  has just been a headache, then we moved and switched to a different one .  This last week we were finally getting our answer. The surgeons office called to authorized it, insurance company said I wasn't even in the system. The had no paper work on me. WHAT?!  It was figured out , told I was approved for the Sleeve, by 2 people. An hour later they call up my surgeons office and said, oops, made a mistake she's denied.  So , now we're trying for RNY . Which I had originally wanted but the surgeon said because of my weight she wanted to do the sleeve .  Anyhow , they put a rush on the RNY approval.  if all's approved I'll be under the knife in a matter of weeks. The "weight" is almost over.   

My insurance company did the same thing--kept claiming they didn't receive my paperwork. I started calling and making them verify receipt of everything my doctor's office sent. Then they denied me. The letter from my doctor stating I had been dieting for ten months apparently did not meet their 3-month diet requirement. Well, I persisted and now I'm ten days post-op. It really does happen!
