I'm one week post op today and am simply feeling awful. my skin is cool and clammy - I'm extremely nauseous! and am having sharp, stabbing pain to the left and a little down from my belly button. Mayb I'm just being a complete spaz, but I wanted to see if anyone has any input.

on my diet I started the pureed stage and cooked a scramble egg, but that didn't agree with my stomach so I stuck with liquid the rest of the day.

Of course I had surgery 12 years ago , But I remember the first 2 weeks i was death warmed over a couple hundred times and kept thinking i was a fool to have this surgery. You may be having gas pains. Just go slow and listen to your body. Your body is doing a lot of healing right now and adjusting. Just go slow :)

Jus take things one day at a time. You will slowly ever so slowly begin to feel better. The more effort you put into getting better the sooner it will happen. This is both a mental and a physical challenge.

Unfortunately there are no immunity idols to be had. (LOL)

The first three weeks are horrible.  Everything that passed my mouth made my stomach hurt and my heart would beat real fast and pound so bad I would have to lay down.  I would dread meal time.  Sometimes even the shakes and water hurt me.

I hope you feel better soon I keep reading these post to mentally help me prepare for my surgery next week. I know it will be very difficult physically and mentally. However, reading that it is normal and most go through this helps me to have some peace about things..

Keep a check on your blood pressure and blood glucose.  They are re-adjusting as you change your diet and food amount.

I agree, the first three weeks are pretty horrific.  Keep in mind that it is temporary and before you know it you will be feeling better.  Things should improve by next week for sure.  I see tons of people complain of left sided pain - so it must be typical.  Stick with it (like you have a choice) and I promise things will get better!

I'm 3wks post op RNY. The first week was HELL, by the second week I started to feel a little better. The pain on the left side is normal. I had it too and asked my surgeon, he said cuz that was the side they did most of the work on. I didn't get outter stitches but I did get inner stitches and they were still healing. I'm feeling a whole lot better. Everyday gets better and better. Good luck:)
