Am I doing something wrong?
When I first started on this forum I thought something was wrong with me because I had a smooth surgery and no real problems after surgery. I was sure I would be the one that it wouldn't work for. Then one of the veterans explained that most people who post are posting because they have questions about things that don't seem quite right. Those of us that have been fortunate enough to have an easier time simply don't post as much. That made me feel so much better about things. I hope their advise helps you, too!
No, it sounds like you are doing everything just right. Most people have very little trouble post-op. It just SEEMS like lots of people have trouble because it is the small percentage of people who DO have trouble who post about it (while the ones who are doing just fine don't have any reason to post).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Why are you taking pain meds then? They cause constipation. I took one dose when I got home, it was Roxicet, it made me hallucinate, so I dumped it. Tried the liquid Tylenol the doctors office had me buy prior to surgery, it was gross. Never took that again either, I had open surgery, went and bought a tree the second day home to commemorate my surgery. I drove myself to the mall the next day and to my doctors support group meeting. I felt great, walked everyday and no issues besides a back spasm, that hurt worse then anything I had surgically done. I still get the spasms even at a normal weight.
My doctor said there was nothing I could do to ruin his surgery, basically lifting my nearly 300lb ass up was more stress on my body then anything I could try doing.
Enjoy!
