3 years out and so lost...what do I do???
I am not sure what you mean when you say "I hope I didn't fail at the surgery"... It isn't like the is a point in time where there is an evaluation and you pass or fail.
Yes, you CAN get back on track and lose the weight. It won't come off quickly since you are now absorbing all the calories you take in, but it WILL come off if you consistently consume fewer calories than your burn. Time to go back to basics: high protein, limited carb diet, limited portions (it is bery easy for us to allow our portion sizess to creep up after a few years), more water (but not with, or right after, meals), and more physical activity if you are able.
i have a self-imposed 5 pound weight creep limit. When I hit that, I eliminate all non-dairy and non-veggie carbs, and TRY to get in more fluids (I have ever been a big drinker) and a bit more protein. I have been successful with doing that.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Thank You for the help! What I mean when I say fail is I just hope I didn't fail myself. Surgery was a big step and I did really well until I just lost control. I am going to go back to basics like you say and start over. What does a typical day look like for you as far as your meals go?

Heaviest Weight:417 / Surgery Weight:363 / Current Weight:248

Well, the good news is, every day you get a new chance (actually a bunch of chances) to turn things around.

I'm just shy of 2 years out and have gained about 20lbs. My husband got very ill and almost passed before Thanksgiving and that's when everything came crashing down. I've only just realized how bad I have let myself go, but better late then never, right?! I'm committing to getting back to the basics and making some overdue and much needed appointments. Knowing where we have come from (weight wise), I know it's going to be more difficult to lose, but not impossible; we still own our "tools" and it's time we put them in the forefront!! I'm here to support you and we can do this together!!
