Good Morning... I have a question
Does Dr. J. allow peanut butter crackers at 3 weeks out? Although they could potentially be a decent source later on to regulate sugar levels (if needed) it's really not the best choice for a newbie with limited pouch space and trying to get in enough protein. IDK, I personally wouldn't choose this as a food option if I were in your shoes.
What about eating some yogurt, cottage cheese right now? And, can you share what stage you are ate on eating, since surgeon's don't use the same stage of progression.

Hi, Yes, I just went in for my three week check up and they added the Peanut Butter and Ritz crackers and alot of other things. I am eating cottage cheese and yogurt also. I am on stage three and 3 weeks from stage 4. I am trying to get in protein as I am having a hard time with the protein drinks... I had a allergic reaction to the whey isolate powder I tried, so they want me to get allergy tested before I try anymore and then the ones that don't have the whey have lactose that I can't have either... So I am trying to get in as much protein as I can just from foods.
Personally having simple carbs so early would have been a problem for me. I avoided most carbs, except from fruit or veggies, until I was over a year out. I did not want to set off the carb monster so early on.

I, too, would caution against Ritz crackers so early out (regardless of whether they are "allowed" or not), and -- to be honest -- I would avoid PB so early out, too. BOTH of those things are loaded with fat and eating them right away after surgery would be like just ignoring the whole concept of completely changing the way you eat after surgery (and if you don't change the way you eat, you WILL regain the weight). Eating PB and white flour high-fat crackers really may setting yourself up for having trouble not also adding back in other high fat, low nutrition foods.
How about just PB on a spoon with NO crackers? Also, are you going to be able to eat PB without drinking something right away (remember, no drinking for at least 30 minutes after eating)? I cannot, and I am 6 years out. PB makes me too thirsty.
There are MANY other soft foods you can have that have protein in them and are much better for you.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I thought it was sorta strange to, to have PB on the list of allowed foods. I bought the wheat ritz crackers. Too tell you the truth I was putting such a light coat of PB on the cracker that Its not even doing me any good so why bother. I would only have two at a time and then top with a tiny bit of PB. But I sure don't want to run into trouble so I wont' do it... Thanks yall
