After the first week I could start taking pretty big gulps. Comparable to my drink sizes before surgery.

I sip as I normally did, I drink continuously through out the day all the time everyday.  I don't gulp down water, but as long as I stay continually hydrated I never feel the need to gulp down water.  Remember your body only absorbs 8 ounces of water an hour, the rest is output.  Believe me I test the limits of this on a daily basis and it is pretty much true.  I go to lots of places without bathrooms so I have to be very careful about how much I drink, peeing in the woods is not an option for me with two young golden retriever puppies.  I can only imagine them dragging me off with my butt hanging out.  Not a pretty picture.  lol
