I had my bypass 5/7.  Everything was uneventfull and I was looking forward to my 2 week check up.  Well, that morning I ended up in ER with a GI bleed.  I was transferred to the hospital that I had the surgery in.   My blood levels finally stabilized  ( Hemaglobin 7.3/ Hematocrit 23)  and they said I wouldn't need a transfusion.  I am home now and taking it pretty easy.  I had to start all over with the clear, now full liquid diet until I see the Dr in a week or two.  I think I have the full liquid diet down pretty good.  They say that the bleed was from a blood thinning medication for a heart condition that was restarted per Dr's orders.  Ugg, 2 more weeks of full liquids and liquid iron!

So sorry to hear you have had a setback - how frightening for you! Glad they were able to identify the source and that you are on the mend!!!
