I went in today and doctor said he is giving me 2 more months to start eating better or he is gonna do a revision and put me back to the way I was before. I do admit I am a lousy eater, I don't eat much anymore. I can go days without eating and not feel hungry. So he told me if i do not start eating better he is going to do a revision. But how do you eat when you dont feel hungry?? When I say dont feel hungry no lie, i can go a week straight without food and still not feel hungry.  I have 2 months to get eating. And he said he didn't think I was mentally ready for this surgery. Well if he didnt think so why did he go ahead with the surgery and why did my psych eval say i was?

You are almost 2 months post-op. You have to just get on a eating schedule and follow it. Whether your hungry or not. For me I do a GNC lean shake every morning, takes me about 30 mins to drink(7am) then at 930am i do a handful of almonds, then at 1230 i do a lunch, either chili, turkey, or what ever looks good. At 330 I have half a piece of toast with PB before my workout. We have dinner by 7pm. Lately its hamburgers on the grill, mine is with no bun but still good.

Your not hungry but your body still needs food to stay healthy and to lose the fat, not your muscles. If your not getting enough protein you will stay to not feel good, lose your hair, have muscle aches, ect. Here is a link to my pinterest board for Gastric bypass stuff. It has all kinds of helpful things.http://pinterest.com/slgreen46/gastric-bypass-stuff/

Are you drinking enough fluids? Taking your vitamins?

Just so you know, when he says he will reverse your surgery, even if he is qualified to do it (not all surgeons are), you will not be "back to the way I was before".  Because of the nature of the surgery, you cannot have the original anatomy again.  All he can do is  reattach your old stomach and un-do the bypass, but that does not mean you will be able to eat the same as you did before, and there may be complications because of all of the areas that have to be surgically reattached... So you should NOT think reversing this surgery is no big deal.

WARNING: Tough love ahead.

You ask how you eat when you aren't hungry.  YOU JUST DO IT!  Seriously!   Surely, you were told to expect not to feel hungry for a while after surgery, right?!?.  I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but you need to just get your... um... "stuff" together, take care of your health, and EAT.  I don't even know what else to say except that your post almost sounds like a twelve year old wrote it.... " Basically, "I don"t feel like eating so I don't even though I know it is horrible for my health".  REALLY?!?  Why did you have the surgery?  I assume that part of the goal was to get healthy.  Well, you certainly aren't behaving in a way that says you value your health.

The surgeon and psychologist can only base their assessment of how ready you are for surgery on what YOU tell them about your life, your thoughts, what you are and are not willing to do, etc.  Don't try to blame having this surgery on them if you weren't ready. YOU sought out the surgery, YOU signed the surgical consent form, and now YOU have to put on your "big girl panties" and take responsibility for following through on following the post-op eating plan!

I second what Lora said and add I would start eating before your doctor has you committed and force fed through a tube.

Force yourself to eat. You have two options:

Eat and be healthy

Don't eat and die a slow miserable death of malnutrition

It's really that simple. Reversing your surgery is NOT an easy procedure, and with possible complications.

Many of us were not hungry and still years later go through periods of not being hungry. You MUST eat, period. Find a way.
