I don't think I dump!
Yeah, I definitely regret trying some of the foods that I shouldn't have just to test the waters. I wish I still believed I dumped from sugar and refined carbs. I forsure wasn't testing it at 3 months out. More like 8 - 10 months out. Knowing that you can tolerate a certain food, makes it all the harder to avoid it. Trust me. At 20 months out, I can tolerate just about everything and it can be hard not to put that cookie in my mouth knowing I'll feel fine.
I could have salad at 6 weeks out per my surgeon with included lettuce. And how do you know if in another two months and all eating is going well you won't eat 3 bites of cake? You don't. You can't predict the future. Everyone is faced with food every single day of their lives until they die, it is all about the choices we make and trying to keep the good ones outweighing the bad ones. Three bites of cake is not going to kill anyone, but if it opens the flood gates to trying to eat a whole cake that is another thing. I honestly can eat three potato chips, my bf can't stop until the bag is gone, we all have different triggers. This is all a learning curve.
Good Luck.
I know I won't eat cake at three months out. I won't try something that is not on my plan. That's just me. I'm a stickler for rules. And FYI I was not being judgemental. My surgeon does not let lettuce nail 6 months out. I know every surgeon is different. Ibwish I could have salad at 6 weeks out. I love a good salad.
As Kelly said, you MAY be a dumper but there wasn't enough sugar in the cake to make it happen. I can eat an entire cupcake with no problem if I don't eat the icing (but I am almost 6 years out..l do NOT try this, LOL.). Also, even people who dump on sugar often do NOT dump on carbs.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I just want to add.....I am a dumper. I have pushed it too far and now gained back about 20 lbs. I am trying now to get back on track. This has to be a life-style change......I have learned the hard way. The symptoms I get are.....first I start getting palpitations, then I start to sweat.....next nausea.....sometimes throw-up (but not so much anymore). I feel really sick for about 15 minutes then it subsides. I am 3 1/2 years out. I haven't been following the program.....and now I am trying to turn it back around.
