All the food - it's everywhere!
Our associate director brought in Reese's cups today. Thankfully they were not in my line of sight. Coworkers on either side, one eating a breakfast sandwich, the other eating a bagel. I smelled an awesome thanksgiving dinner the other night. Turned out it was the can of cat food I gave to my cats.
I can make it through this. I've been through worse. At least I have pre-op day tomorrow. That's something to look forward to.
I'm sorry you are going though this! You gave me a good laugh, cause I'm on the liquid diet to. My surgery is on Monday the 24th.
But I'm not hungry at all. I don't know how you can work on this cause it makes me go to the bathroom every minute.
and I'm going though the coffee withdrawal this sucks ! I miss my coffee more then the food! Oh well good luck and hope to here that you are doing better.
I so sympathize/empathize! The preop and postop liquid stage diets have been such a challenge. I am 1 1/2 weeks out on the post op liquid diet and I am going KRAAAAAAZY!!! NOt so much that I am hungry, but I hate the shakes so much that I just can't wait to even have baby food. I really feel like I am choking everything down.
Great job on all your will power, and the will power stuff will get easier immediately after postop!
I loved your post-big laughs about the thanksgiving dinner....You will do great! Best wishes to you on your surgery - my only regret is that i didnt do this years ago. :)
I've said this many times before on here, so sorry, but for your benefit...
I wanted to taste real food during my liquid diet so bad I sucked the cheese off some cheetos. I felt like some type of drug addict as I did it. I guess I was really!
Congrats on staying strong, and it will alllllll be worth it!

I am so thankful that sugar and baked goods (other than sourdough and rye breads) do nothing for me. I have thrown candy away because it has gotten old in my house. Just totally not what gave me this body. And prayerfully, no one traipses through my office with fresh bread and Amish butter or prime rib with horseradish. :)
You can do it...your time will be over before you know it and after surgery, you really won't want anything, but will force yourself to eat (drink) because you must.
Hope your pre-op goes super well!!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
Tuesday I learned my journey has been extended because the pulmonary folks are going to get me a BIPAP and I have to use it for 3 weeks before they will clear me.
So on the way home I stopped at Cody's and ordered the T-Bone Porterhouse, baked potato, salad and a double handful of peanuts.
