Is Watered down Sweet Tea still OK ?
Completely understand, as with all things, I can even see myself over doing it on the unsweetened tea when i know water is the best thing for me. A new thing for me is those FUZE drinks in the tropical punch...only 10 calories but 90g of sodium. The sodium and the fact it's $1.00 a piece on sale...LOL i can limit myself. Water is so much cheaper! But wow, I love them....it's a treat!
I get where you're coming from about cutting the tea out....with the weight loss slowing down...I've averaged 4 lbs the last 3 months (12 lbs total-when I wa****ting that every month prior to the 9th month), I'm trying to figure what I can do to shake things up!! Water, food, exercise...ANYTHING! :)
As we've heard and figured out, it's still going to be a struggle and we have to use our surgery as a tool....my body seems so screwed up that it doesn't know what i'm doing or it's doing and we are having battle! :) I want to know going into my second year, I've done all I can to get where I want to be...and right now I don't even know where that is...I do know I want it to have a 1 in front of it....the rest...is all up to me, God and doing what i'm supposed too.

How about buying the Sweet Tea flavored Mio? I do not like sweet tea, I only drink unsweetened, always have, but I know it is LOADED with sugar or corn syrup and either way--bad carb, IMO.
And the occasional cookie sounds like white carbs to me.
I would just dial it back on the tea. Sure it is only 230 calories (McD large sweet) but still, that is an entire meal to me. I would not load up on it via tea.

As someone that grew up in the south and never had unsweetened tea or even hot tea (it's a Iced Tea southern thing) I can understand how much you like it. Will it totally interfere with your success, probably not if you are watching how much you drink. However, think about the idea of drinking your calories.....if at all possible try to switch to Splenda, Stevia or unsweetened tea so when you are "done" losing and maintaining and feeling hunger more (if hunger comes back with a force) and can eat more you'll want to be able to fill your pouch with FOOD that will keep you full. The "empty" liquid calories will need to be considered at that time for sure.
You and only you can decide if this works for you.......we do have things in life we have to decide what makes it all worth it for us.

I am not from the south so remember that when I say that Syntrax makes a nector flavor of lemon tea. I mix a half scoop of the protein tea mix with a squeeze of the tea flavoring (like MIO) and a bit of water then mix with a fork in a 20 oz shaker bottle. Dont use the shaker ball or it will foam LOTS. Then add water and crushed ice and mix more. I LOVE THIS and have 2 or 3 a day which is 100-150 calories, but provides 25-40 grams of protein. We just have to pick our calories, if this is what you really want and you can work it into your daily plan I say keep it or modify it. I feel no guilt drinking my tea because of the protein being the source of the liquid calories.
