Just got my results from my vitamin levels for 3 months p/o
My PA called from my surgeons office.
In a nutshell i take optisource vitamins 4 chewables a day... i was taking bariatric fusion 4 chewables a day. Anyway my levels are PERFECT! Not only that but in April when i had labs my liver function tests have been elevated they actually have been elevated for over a year now. Well she told me my liver function tests have come down considerably! I wonder if that is due to weight loss??? Like i said they were high for over a year needless to say i am THRILLED! My thyroid is also looking good... finally some good news YAY! As of now i will continue this vitamin regimen since it doesn't seem to be causing any issues... if on my next labs there is deficiencies i will re-evaluate.
I'm glad all your levels were good. I'm assuming you checked the lab report yourself? And you made sure they checked things like vitamin A, zinc, and copper?

I checked the lab slip she handed right to me and everything was checked off. I had 7 vials taken.

13 vials is about right for a full set of labs. Some docs don't order full sets of labs. Sometimes you need to specifically request some tests.

Glad to read that. When I went to Quest to determine the codes for each test and confirm my insurance would pay they told me it would be 14 or 15 vials. 7 does not seem enough.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
I also had 7 vials taken last week for my 3 month post op bloodwork. The lab people got a little bogged down by my "order" and had to look up a bunch of stuff because they claimed it was "so much!"
Surgeon's office called today and said, "Everything looks good!" So I asked if they would send me a copy, and they were like, "huh? really?" Should I compare it with my pre-op stuff, or just hang on to it to compare with the next set of labs?
I have an excel spreadsheet that I got from poet kelly, if you would like it I can email you a copy. pm me your email and i will forward it to you. It helps to see trends when the are all entered in one place.

You can compare it to your pre-op values, but what you really care about (since you were likely eating too much, and therefore taking in more vitamins, pre-op) is what your next set of post-op values look like compared to these. Pay attention to anything that changes significantly, and even something that changed by just a bit should be monitored to see if it changes even more the following set of labs. If something has dropped even a little bit for three consecutive labs, you will need to do something before it drops too low.
