Quick Help :) Wine Question
Going to a BBQ today and I am at 6 weeks out... I haven't gotten nausea over anything as I sit here today... Eggs one time but thats it... With that said, I am by no means a drinker... But at a social event, I usually have a beer, Rum and Coke, or Wine... Is it to soon to have wine? And I mean a little glass :) Not a large serving.... I am off soda and beer for good as I hadn't had those in a year or so... Quick thoughts?
What did your surgeon say? Most say no alcohol for at least six months. Six weeks sounds awfully soon to me.

I have not heard of a surgeon that allows any kind of alcohol at only 6 weeks out. All alcohol has sugar and may make you sick, so if you decide to go ahead and have some, make it a very small amount. You don't want to dump at a BBQ!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Wine is very low in sugar.

Thanks. I am not a wine drinker (obviously) and my surgeon's sheet said all alcohol so I didn't question it. (Yeah, we know how that goes!)

p.s. The domestic violence and alcohol abuse training I did also emphasized how alcohol gets metabolized like sugar, so I guess the people getting drunk and beating on people aren't wine drinkers, either.

I would have thought it would have a fair amount of sugar, too. I looked it up though and apparently it doesn't. If one is going to drink, it's probaby a good choice. Just not at six weeks.
