Let's be HONEST. How far post-op were you before trying alcohol?

Did you wait the full year?? Not looking for judgemental responses or anyone judging anyone else's answers.. just a question. If so how did you feel??? Please don't imply or assume i am asking this because i want to try alcohol.

Five months.  The surgeon's office was...okay...with it as long as I wasn't driving.  One drink was more than enough...it hits hard.

After I reached goal, which was 9 months out. It hit me hard. About 1 oz of beer made me feel drunk. I still can't drink much maybe a half a beer or 2 oz of wine and I feel the affects.

I was around 2 years out (never much of a drinker).  It hit me hard and fast -- I got dizzy and lightheaded on just  two swallows of a strong mixed drink -- but it also passed quickly (roughly 15 minutes).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

My surgeons office only asked to refrain for 3 months. I waited until my birthday, 2 months, but only had a sip or 2. It didn't hit me, I just didn't enjoy it. I don't remember when I drank again after that but it was a while before I drank regularly again (maybe once a week, usually less frequently than that). I do get drunker quicker now but I think it has to do more with my weight than my stomach. I can usually sip a couple of mixed drinks and be fine. Jus****ch the sugar! And I never have more than 1 if I'm driving.

I'm going on vacation a week from Sunday and I plan on having a drink while away.  I'm thinking I won't do my usual, though--I'm a ****tail drinker (or I was...).  I love martinis and my default drink of choice is a sidecar (yummy!).  But those are potent and are served with a sugar rim--not exactly what I need a little over three months post op!  I'll probably opt for a glass of wine and see how I do.  I don't expect I'll fini****

Around the 8 month mark. Discovered I am now a very cheap date.  Alcohol now hits me very quickly.

Preparing myself for the verbal whiplash for this.

I had my first beer last night. Michelob ultra light. I'm a fan if craft beer but ultra light is the lowest carb and calorie content

1/2 gave me that fuzzy FEELING.

Went away fairly quickly.

Don't plan to make a habit from it.

About six months out.  I had one glass of wine.  I felt a little tipsy pretty quickly but it didn't last very long.  I didn't feel ill or anything like that.
