Rollercoasters and blood pressure
On Saturday I'm going to cedar point to celebrate my graduation back in June for my AA degree. Well I have low blood pressure, about 93/52. And it likes to drop a lot. Don't matter how much I drink or eat. I was wondering if anyone has tips on this. I want to ride coasters but I'm afraid of passing out. I won't be drinking or eating as much as normal since I will be at a park all day. Any advice would be great.
Wouldn't a roller coaster by more likely to increase your BP than to drop it? Maybe call your PCP tomorrow and ask if it would be safe to ride, but I'm thinking your BP is not likely to drop significantly when you are sitting down. Do make sure you keep up with your fluids, though, as not drinking enough can cause a drop in BP.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I just went to CP a few weeks ago and had a great time. I hope you are able to ride the rides with your BP problem if it is a problem! I have been trying to lose weight for a few years to get on the rides and finally this year I got on everything but the Wicked Twister. I need to lose a couple more pounds for that one, different harness. Everything else was right on the money. Have a good time!!
