I feel so overwhelmed!
I know I post alot of questions on here and you guys always help me out. I just feel so overwhelmed right now as far as how to get all of my liquids and protein in as well as vitamins. I know it will be different when I am on regular food but I'm so confused as to if I only coun****er as my recommended amount of fluids or can I count my broth towards that too or even my water that I put in my protein shakes. I feel like there isn't enough time in the day to get everything in.
You can count all your fluids, including water, broth, jello, popsicles, and protein shakes.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Yes, girlfriend...All of that counts towards your fluids. Don't stress just keep sipping :)
It really does get easier... 6 mos out... still a work in progress... but... most days I hit it straight on..some days I go way over...and some days I fall short and pay the price... Every day I work at it...every day it get's just that little bit easier...
YOU CAN DO THIS...

I am 12 days out and my surgeon is saying what your has said. To get the liquids (water, crystal light, broth, jello) all in 60 + oz a day, and also work your way up to 60+ grams of protein, not to be included in the liquids. I am quite easily doing that. After the 2-week post-op appt come this Wednesday, I should be able to begin the pureed stage.
Best wishes on your journey!

I am drinking my chocolate protein drinks that I loved before surgery. I've had 2 the past 2 days and I've been nauseated both times. I thought I drank it too fast the first time but it was just as bad today drinking it slower :( I don't know what kind to get. I ordered unjury chicken broth but I need something to hold me over until then. I told myself I wouldn't be this person!
The Unjury does not take more than two days to get to me when I order it. The longest I had to wait was three, when I ordered some more on July 4th, only because that was a holiday.
Are the shakes too cold? Make one or take one out of the fridge and let it sit till it takes some of the cold off of it. I know the first week I only drank room temp items, including shakes. Now, at almost two weeks, I can drink them colder than room temp, but not really, really cold yet. I can enjoy warm unjury soup, but not hot as of yet.
Maybe doing room temp may help, if you have not done that already. Try a different shake. There are 3 ready-made shakes that I loved before surgery, now~~not so much.
Hope you find out the reason you have become nauseated. Best wishes~!
