Scar tissue help!
I had a post a few days ago that I was having trouble with a lump under my larger incision. It's still bothering me. Yesterday I decided to go see my drs physician assistant to get some piece of mind. They did an ultra sound on the lump and they said it didn't show any type of abscess or hernia or even built up fluid. They said she are going to say its scar tissue that will have to get better on its own. Ok that's fine until this evening I check out my incisions and the dang thing is pink around the incision and the lump is now bulging out. Like I can literally cup it in my hand. It looks like I'm pregnant and my baby is poking its booty up. I called the on call dr and he sounded like he was half stupid and just said he's not concerned bc the ultrasound yesterday didn't show anything but if I'm concerned that I'm welcome to go get it checked out again. I need some more opinions! Thank you
I don't have any idea what it might be. I can tell you what I think I would do if I had that going on, but please don't take it as medical advice, OK?
If the incision doesn't show any signs of infection and it's not particularly painful and there is nothing else weird going on, I'd just keep an eye on it over the weekend. If it starts hurting or getting really red and warm or smelling bad or oozing gross stuff, I'd call the surgeon back or go to the ER. Otherwise, I'd jus****ch it and if it's still the same or bigger on Monday, I'd call the surgeon's office and probably make another appointment to go back and have them look at it again.
I might also try putting some ice on it to see if that would shrink it at all, like reduce the swelling, if it's even swollen, which I'm not sure it is. But I might try it.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
You can always go to the ER if you would feel better getting it looked at now.
