Finally POST - OP !
I had RNY last Monday . Things went well. Second day was the hardest, felt like I was run over by a mac truck. Every time I got up to walk I got really nauseas . Had to stay in the hospital for 5 days instead of two since my oxygen levels were so low. Having a hard time getting all the water in. Before surgery I drank over 100oz a day . Really enjoyed a nice big glass of ice water . Now, I'm fighting to get through a water bottle. But I know it's important so I'm drinking.
Wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be ! I didn't need pain meds from day 3 on . I have a bottle of hydrocodone sitting next to me , unopened. Don't think I'll need it.

Congrats and glad you are home! The water thing is a concern to me as well. My surgery is Tuesday and I LOVE water. I drink tons of it every day. I am concerned afterwards I am going to have trouble getting enough in.
How great is it not to need pain meds after just the 3rd day? I can only hope I get that lucky!

The hospital gave me the nestle water , it tasted gross. I tried dasani water and it's good. Some has a nasty metallic taste. The jello in the hospital is nasty . The Jello brand sugar free from the grocery store is yummy . Looking forward to being able to eat soups !

Been thinking about you and glad you posted. Now, this is out the way and I bet your glad at least for that!!! Keep drinking, I know how hard this is, but remember, you don't want to have to go to the ER to get IV fluids. If you feel like you are really dehydrated then don't even hesitate. Keep us posted. I had my surgery Monday as well. Have been home since Wednesday night. They almost didn't let me leave blood pressure was through the roof. Finally got it down late Monday and they sent me home. Have pain meds Tylenol with codeine don't really need it. I'm not having any problems eating Jello or drinking water. Water ice is nice too but they told me to stay away from Rita's has too much fruit pieces. I can't wait to eat some real food feeling a little weak and am pissed the insurance company is dragging there feet getting me my Omeprozole. Other than that I'm OK.
