What's the best birth control post - op . Besides abstinence   I've heard the pill isn't strong enough . The last thing I want is to get pregnant during the next two years . 

Pill is only 20% effective. I had an iud prior to surgery but had it removed d/t cyst.

Talk to your surgeon and Obgyn.

Condoms are never a bad idea

My husband despises condoms . 

can you please share where you got the 20% effective statistic?

That statistic is definitely not right... 

Iud would be a good option or nueva ring

I despise condoms as well so I had an IUD put in a couple weeks before surgery. Best decision ever.

Anyone tried the norplant?  I can't do IUD.

 

I have an IUD. Out of sight, out of mind, you don't have to worry about it or remember to take anything. Best decision ever!

i could tell the pill wasn't working for me because it wasn't regulating my period at all. my gyn recommended the nuva ring so i've been using that for almost 2.5 years. i'm thinking about getting an iud, but i've read they can be painful if you haven't had kids. i have my yearly in the fall so i plan on talking to her about it then.
