Wondering what is the softest, most tolerable meat/fish that you were able to eat early on?

Lean ground beef, steamed shrimp, baked salmon/cod, dark meat chicken (very moist), scallops, light canned tuna fish in water.

You were allowed lean ground beef? My doctor suggests waiting a year for me to eat beef.

I'm only a few weeks post op -- I find that I can tolerate catfish.. and it doesnt need to be pureed.

I was allowed ground beef early, and I had a much easier time with that than I did with chicken.  That can still be a hit or miss proposition, particularly with white meat.

I am on the soft food stage and have not had any problem with the foods I have tried. Here is some of them;

Light tuna fish

shrimp

scallops

crab

lunchmeat (turkey and roast beef sliced very thin)

turkey meatballs

Canned chicken and tuna. Beef has made me sick every time I have tried it.

Canned chicken and steamed shrimp worked for me. I couldn't do beef and still (5.5 months) it upsets me a little bit even now.

Shrimp, scallops and crab legs have all been the best.

I can tolerate anything at almost 6 months out - I just don't eat anything fried or too greasy.

Canned chicken and sandwich meat like turkey. Peas and beans. Mashed potatoes. Grits (well measured because they swell).
