Anyone taking Cytomel and Synthroid?

Thanks for the thoughts, I'll probably follow with my bariatric MD as well tomorrow to ensure no unknown conflicts from my surgery. I've just never heard of this.

I have hypothyroidism and have taken Synthroid (Levothyroxine) for years. Today my endocrinologist prescribed me Cytomel (liothryronine sodium) in addition to it because my T3 component was very low. I'm not sure if maybe this could have been prompted by my surgery. Does anyone have any experience taking both of these drugs together? If so, did you see a noticeable difference in your fatigue levels after taking Cytomel?

Yes.  The two of them together have been the only thing to get my levels in the proper range.

Yes, I take both.  I have had hypothyrodism for years, not the reason for my weight gain, with that said when I was recently put on T, Cytomel, I lost 30 lbs in a year.  I felt better and will continue taking both after my surgery.  I never had a doctor put me on T3 and it has made such a difference!!!
