Nausea after exercise

I'll be 3 weeks out this Wednesday and my surgeon cleared me for the gym (no weightlifting yet of course). Well I'm doing 30 mins at a time on the treadmill, about a pace of 2.0 to 2.5 with no incline yet. After I'm done I get a bit nauseous for awhile. I'm getting in all my liquids per day. Anyone else have this issue? Suggestions on what might be causing it?

Low blood sugar?  Or just too much exertion right now?

My blood sugar was 112. You might be right about too much exertion, though. After coming home and chilling for a while I'm feeling better. Thanks for responding, Kelly.

Would you get nauseous if you just worked out for 15 minutes?  I would try shorter and/or easier workout and then build up slowly.  If you can do 15 minutes without getting nauseous, I would start there and then in a week or so try adding another five minutes.

I think that's what I'm going to do.....start off a little easier and work up. I need to remember I just had major surgery recently and cool my jets a bit. lol

You might be getting your base liquids in, but are you taking into account what you lose via sweat when working out? I drink right before and immediately after most workouts. Some of the heavier duty workouts I will drink during the workout. I get very nauseated if I am dehydrated.

That's a good point! I'll make sure I drink extra so I'm covered for my workouts. I was so excited to be back at the gym that I didn't take the time to think through the precautions I needed to take.

I know when I'm on the treadmill for an extended time i'lI get dizzy the second I stop moving. I think for me it's a motion sickness kind of thing. I get sick in the car if I'm doing anything other than looking out the window. It's so weird.

Interesting! I haven't had any dizziness, but I always feel like my legs are still moving at the same pace as they were on the treadmill. lol

I've always gotten dizzy when the treadmill stops, even pre-op. I have to hang on for a little bit. I usually lean against the side and wrap up my earbuds. I'm usually okay by then.
