SOOO i knew at my last appointment on Monday they would give me the lab form for my 3 month visit.  I had my list (thanks to Poet Kelly)  He did add most of hte ones i requested except for Uric Acid which he said the creatin and something else was a better indicator if you were asymptomatic  and Selenium which he said I would need to see specialist for (I think that is what he said)  and Bili -direct cause of some other bili number being a better indicator ( again I think that is what he said) He was mostly good about it but refused to order them until he went over all of them with me and told me why they dont typically order them , which were actually part of a bigger panel and would be done even though I didnt see them spelled out, and made sure I understood not to self diagnose and to ask if I had concerns.

He was mostly worried that me having normal numbers would put me into a false sense of security and having abnormal numbers would have me going nuts with Dr. Google.   He wanted to be sure I consulted with them first. And staye true to my schedule with them.  I told him I want to have them for historical purposes as well as for information when years down the road I am seeing a primary care person who may not be as educated on what to worry about.  Having historical labs of all those items allows me to show them to the primary care manager and let them know this was never an issue or this was an issue when I was followed by my surgeon.  Gives them a place to start looking anyway.  He still Eyed me strangely a lot but did concede to add them all on.  He made a copy of the script so that next time he would know what we ordered and would order them the same.  He is not my usual PA soooo he wanted to be sure it was captured.
