Milk..
So I just want to say thank you to all *****plied to my post before this one. You guys really helped me. My next question, how much milk should I drink a day? I drank some last night and I LOVE it. It sits so well in my new stomach and I just love it right now, plus it has quite a bit of protein in 8oz (7.9g) What is your take on milk?
Well, when you are further out, you probably don't want to drink too many of your calories. That's an easy way to end up getting too many calories. However, I think it's OK to drink milk, even further out, as long as it fits into your calorie plan for the day.
Early out, you can't eat that many calories so drinking them is not so much of a problem. And you need the protein. If you tolerate milk OK, no lactose intolerance, then I think it's Ok to drink up to a few glasses a day if you want.

I have been having a glass of milk more days than not for almost 6 years now. As someone else mentioned, you need to be cautious about drinking calories because it is very easy to consume more calories than you think (or want), but milk is healthy and has far fewer calories than juices. I am not sure that i would recommend more than a glass a day, but if it helps you get protein in, a second glass probably isn't a big deal.
I started out drinking 1% post-op, but really didn't like it much (skim milk is disgusting to me, so that was never going to happen!), and when I looked at the minimal difference in fat and calories between 1% and 2% (which is what I drank before surgery), I went back to the 2%. I usually drink mine before bed because it helps keep me from waking up shaky in the morning.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
