How many calories at a month out?

I know everyone's plan is different but I'm just curious the average amount of calories you were recomended to take in when you were one month post op? I just saw my nut and she's saying 800-1000 a day and I just think she's crazy!

For me that amount would have been crazy, no way I could get in that amount early out.  I wasn't allowed shakes.

Honestly my opinion on this is not to worry about calories early out because it may only add additional stress through all the changes you are dealing with.  Shoot for getting in protein (30 grams within 30 days, 60 within 60, 90 within 90......seems to be reasonable minimums) and if possible get more protein in.  IF you are eating a protein based program and getting in your liquids that is the best way IMO.

Too much emphasis is put on calories and carbs early out, again IMO and they vary so much between programs.

We all had/have protein stores so not getting to XX grams a day will not hurt you.  Now saying this it doesn't mean you don't want to give your best to get in enough.

My suggestion is do what you can daily and work up to enough protein the calories will fall into place.

For what it's worth, mine is 600-800.

My surgeon told me to worry only about two things: protein and water. Oh, and walk, walk, walk. So I guess 3 things :)

Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I was told to focus on getting the protein in (60-80 grams per day) and stay between 600-800 calories. Be sure to get your fluids and vitamins in too. It's hard at first but you will get better at managing your nutrition. Best wishes on your journey!
