Am I the only one who still totally hates exercising

Yeah, no. I wish I enjoyed it as well. Cardio is boring, but I watch the morning news at the gym during it, so that distracts me. Weight training isn't bad, but it's more a matter of getting into the zone. The hot shower is still the best part :D

Wouldn't mind trying some classes, but most are during work or frankly don't sound all that interesting. I should check the local community centre to see what they're doing this fall...

My daughter and I were discussing this, in the gym, today. EVERYONE there was moaning. We all hate it. But go we must. I have been at this over 7 years. Very successful until I stopped going to the gym(my Mom died and I fell apart). So 40 lbs later, I'm back. My daughter is post of sleeve so we are going together. I'm not back to the 5 solid days, but getting there and hoping this week will be the week, but at least we are going and conscious of it. I have always envied those few people over the years that seem to love the gym and I can assure you they are all very fit, not an ounce of fat! . All I know is it is part of the equation to losing or maintaining weight and once you go off the path, its so hard to get back on, but get back on we must. Oh I love my couch and I sit there looking at my exercise bike every day. Finally moved the bike..lol  So keep up the good work, glad you posted. I do feel so much better when I'm done...that I've done it. We found a little group that come now and watch Millionaire from 10-11 on the tv there, so we've made a little fun out of it. My daughter is leaving for college(she loves WOW, too!) so I'm on my own after Friday. Anyway, you are not alone and good luck on your journey!

I am right there with you! From Hobby Lobby (got a ridiculous amount of scrap booking stuff last week for almost nothing cuz of their amazing sale) all the way to the pet wolf (I also have 2 cats, a pink hawk strider and a few rare spawns). Fortunately I have my bf who makes me go with him so I can't talk myself out of it. I always feel amazing after too. It's just the getting up and going part sometimes that's just like UGH!!

No, you are NOT alone.  I never mind walking the dog(s), and I sort of enjoyed using the elliptical machine at the Rec Center when my knees could take it (which wasn't often,a nd I have not tried it since getting my one knee replaced in March), but other than that, I hate it.  I force myself to get on my recumbent bike a couple of times a week, but that's it.  I do, however, park way out in the parking lot (as long as it isn't pouring down rain), I take the stairs instead of the elevator if it is just a couple of floors and my knees are ok that day), etc., so I get more physical activity than I did before I lost the weight.

The drawback is that you won;t be as toned as someone who exercises regularly, and you will have to eat less to keep from regaining, but you can still maintain your weight loss without formal exercise.

I definitely don't love it, even though I'm doing activities that I in theory "enjoy". What I LOVE is how I feel right after working out, a really amazing natural high and it boosts my energy for the rest of the day. I never enjoy the procrastination I feel before actually going to a class or walking. For example this morning was my consult with a personal trainer at my gym. I kept considering rescheduling right up until the last 5 mins. before I actually left for the appointment. It took a lot just to go and I think that is part of the process of changing our mindsets after surgery...I met with her and she was so lovely and really experienced/understanding of weight-loss surgery patients which I was ecstatic with because she didn't question all of my nutritional guidelines that I must follow. We did a lot of resistance training and she basically observed what I can/can't do yet and how far she can push me within reason. I decided that I need someone to be accountable to and will meet with her once a week, and also go 3-4 times a week and do 15mins of interval training on the treadmill (I'm already walking everyday so this is in addition to that). So for me, what I know will keep me exercising is the accountability thing and logging in my exercise on here. Without that, I will definitely hedge before every Yoga class or make excuses of why I can't go out for a walk...

I don't do any structured exercise because I hate it. I do however stay busy and move. Since you already joined and are paying and since you are in a new town maybe you can look at it as meeting new friends.

I think if I had someone to go with I may do better at something structured. Just a thought of finding a co-exerciser to motivate you.

Hate it!

Just put in a nice sized above ground pool for summer exercise, and am now starting to research recumbent stationary bikes for winter exercise. Always wished to live in the Rocky Mountains. I love hiking so much it doesn't seem like exercise, and I'm certain I could get interested in skiing.
