Too little calories? 5 months post op??

I have been noticing I am struggling to get to 1,000 calories. I am hanging around anywhere from 700-900 typically not including any exercise. I am always tired lately too!! It's almost 10 pm here and I am only at around 600 calories if I am lucky!! I wanted to get in at least half a cheeseburger no bun and a quest protein bar but I don't see that happening. For those 5 months out where are you at for calories? Thinking I have to find a way to increase them!!

At four months out my doctor recommends about 1,000 calories a day. I am usually not there but for right now I'm okay with that. I feel good and I'm losing at a reasonable rate.

A protein shake is a really easy way to increase your calories a bit.  I think 700 is kinda low at five months out but 900 sounds better.

Are you getting enough protein?

I wonder if part of why you're always tired has to do with your vitamins.  I might be getting you mixed up with someone else, but are you taking Bariatric Fusion?  And if so, are you taking any B12 with it, in a sublingual, nasal spray, or shot?

Kelly, yes that is me! I take 4 fusion a day in addition to a calcium citrate chew. No extra b12. I set protein all day so even at 700 calories I am typically over 80g protein.

Well, the lack of B12 may be the problem.  You can't absorb the B12 in those chewable vitamins because you don't have enough stomach acid or intrinsic factor in your pouch.  After five months with no B12, I would expect you to be tired.
