Just curious! I know there are a few to choose from and they have different ingredients.

Aspartame and sucralose both make me sick, so I eat Stevia. There's monk fruit now, too. That one is okay.

If you look for stevia stuff, it's usually labeled "natural sweetener."

I know a lot of people don't agree, but I still use Splenda. I had my RNY in March & still don't like sweets much so I don't use it often.

Is Splenda supposed to be bad or something? I just need something to put in coffee.

There is no evidence that it's bad for you that I am aware of. Some diet gurus claim it's bad, but there are no legit studies that have verified that.

I noticed a lot of people who did not have surgery very long ago mentioned using Splenda with no problems. For me about the 3 year mark I was having horrible cravings and it was hard to maintain my weight. I had read the studies that attributed artificial sweetener to weight gain so I stopped using it. My cravings went away and maintaining my weight now at 5 years out is much easier. I use raw Stevia now.

There is data showing that sucralose can trigger migraines but that's all I've seen. I eat Splenda all the time.

Fun fact: the only sweetener without any documented side effects is erythritol. Even the data on stevia is inconclusive at this time and requires more testing.
