Vitamin D
Well long before surgery my vitamin D was discovered to be 15. Yikes....so my PCP told me to take 1,000/day to boost it. I did and got,it,up to 43 right before surgery. I kept at the 1 ,000/day for four months and four months after surgery it was still firmly sitting on 43. I took Kelly's advice and boosted my supplement up,to 50,000 three times a week. Last week I went or six month labs and now my vitamin D is 116.....Wow what a difference in just two months. I am hacking all, results emailed to me and will, post, them tomorrow. I am keeping the lab spreadsheet recommended to me so tomorrow I will also update that. Should be interesting to see what my other values are. When I called for results the nurse jut said all was fine but the vitamin D was high but that was fine. My surgeon does not know o decided to take the 50,000 supplement on my own. My appt first of September should be interesting too.
Yes she does. Now I wonder if I should, cut it back some. Will, ask her if she responds. I got the rest of the results and the other one I was worried about was b12. It went from 548 maybe to 2,000 since I took more supplements. The only concern I see is ferritin which went from 163 to 143 I think. Not looking at the numbers now. But this shows me how important it is to take your vitamins and supplements. They do work. Tomorrow I will scan and post it all and see if Kelly has time to check it for me. I sure hope so. Now to,confess to the surgeon I am "self medicating". :)
Yes, you probably need to cut back to two times a week because at that dose your level will continue to rise at about the same rate, and at this point, you don't want it to go up any more, you just want to keep it where it is. I did exactly the same thing.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
You could probably cut back to twice a week. 116 is just fine for vitamin D but you don't need it to get higher.
You could cut back on the B12 a bit too. 2000 isn't something you need to worry about but you don't need it to be that high.
The drop in ferritin isn't a big problem. Just something to keep an eye on. If it drops more next time, it might mean you need to up your iron a bit.
