Orthostatic hypotension and twitching

I get orthostatic hypotension when I drink less than 80 oz per day. I'm surprised that I had it this morning since I had over 90 oz yesterday.

My question is does anyone twitch while they're dizzy? It only happens during the really bad episodes. I don't know if it's just weakness or if its some kind of neurological problem. It never happens at any other time. My last bp at my pcp's office was 108/70.

On another note, do you feel accomplished when you poop all on your own? The definition of success sure changes post-op!

I have been thrilled to poop at times!  In fact, I think I once posted something on here about doing the happy dance after a good poop.

I don't know if twitching would happen due to low BP.  108/70 isn't that low, either.  Have you talked to your doc about the twitching?

I was too excited about my first 5k when I saw her last. I see the nurse next Fridsy for my depo shot, so I'll ask then.

I've made an appointment to see my doctor. I can't afford to see her until next Thursday, but this doesn't seem like an emergency, so I'm sure I can wait that long.

I saw on another post that they say to drink tons more water if you think you might be dehydrated. I'll try pushing it to see how it goes. It would seem like 80+ oz would be enough, though.

The next time they check your BP, have them do it seated or lying down, and then immediately after standing. That will show how much it drops, which is the more important reading.

If mine is low enough, my hands will start to have some tremors. that's the signal to sit down and drink as much as you can, right away. Something with electrolytes will help.

You may need more than water: sodium, calcium, magnesium potassium and other minerals are essential. Drinking too much pure water without adding electrolytes back in may cause all your symptoms. Try drinking a littler bit of salty pickles juice . and see if that helps. Eating good pickles may be a solution.

It shouldn't be potassium. My program requires Klor-Con for four months. I will ask my pcp to order labs. My surgeon's office doesn't do labs until six months. Is there anything in particular I should ask for, aside from complete vitamins?
