Ok, I'm 6 weeks out and doing very well. (As far as I see it) lol . I'm just wondering if you think I could take a diuretic to get some energy bc I know there ingredient is caffeine. I know we aren't supposed to have caffeine but I figured I'd ask Anyway! Thanks!

a diuretic is a water pill makes you go to the bathroom trust me that will make you tired not give you energy. Do you mean a diet pill?

It's a water pill. The main ingredient is caffeine. I used to take them and they gave me lots of energy

I wouldn't.  Drinking caffeinated beverages is typically fine because the dosage is relatively low and they contain enough liquid to compensate for the diuretic effect.  I wouldn't take a pill that has so much caffeine it's actually billed as a diuretic.

One of the B vitamins give you energy. I think it's B12. Check with your surgeons office. Could just need to adjust your vitamins.

I wouldn't. Have a cup of coffee instead. My surgeon is fine w/ caffeine as long as I'm getting my fluids in.

It doesn't seem like you should take something that would make you pee off your liquids when you suppose to be staying hydrated to begin with. You may end up getting dehydrated if you take the diuretic.

If you want caffeine, I would just take some caffeine, not a diuretic.  You don't need to lose water, right?

I am not suggesting you should take caffeine.  Just that if you do, taking a diuretic isn't the best way to get it.

Why are you not supposed to have caffeine?

No.

Keep on plan, do some exercise, your energy will return. Stay away from the pills.
