Flu shot
I have gotten flu shots as long as flu shots have been around. I had RNY the end of January. I had my flu shot Friday. 3 minutes after the shot I felt flushed, blurry vision, panting like breathing or maybe shortness of breath and my heart was just hammering. Scared me to death. Came on very suddenly. Then as suddenly it disappeared. What do you think? Is this reaction due to the RNY re routed anatomy or did my body just decide to react this year. Th said to stay 15 minutes after the shot as if there, was some reaction it,would be almost immediate. I assured them I would not have a reaction.....never have had a reaction .....but I had a reaction. So glad I stayed and was not driving when it hit.
A flu shot reaction shouldn't have anything to do with your stomach/ intestine.

No, it wouldn't have anything at all to do with your digestive system, since an injection doesn't go through your digestive system. Every year the flu shot is a different in content, and it is also possible that it had something else in it that you reacted to briefly (just as we can react to inert ingredients like binders in pills)

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

The shot is different every year, your gut has nothing to do with the flu shot.
question...why did you get it so early?

Will you have to do another? Here, if you get the shot before Oct 15 they advise you get another after 6 months.

I was at the doctor's office and they said it was fine to get it now. I have had it this early before. I think I must have been in on the original flu shots. I have taken it for years and years and never any reaction. So surprising. I also took the pneumonia series and the shingles vaccine. Anything I can avoid I do. But from now on I will take the flu shot at the doctors office just in case of a reaction like yesterday. Here in Houston they offer them many places. Walgreens, CVS, the grocery stores. I am surprised you can't get on at the gas station.
