Well I had Surgery on 9/3 so I'm still recovering and yesterday I was laying in bed when my 4 yr old son Jump on my stomach!!!!!!!! I screamed in agonizing pain so loud I could not catch my breath it hurt soooooo Bad all I could do was cry and grab my stomach I immediately called my surgeon if course he could not understand a word I said because I was in a state of panic and crying all at the same time so after I told him what happen he had me do my breathing test to make sure my breathing had not change and it did not so he said that this happened to a patient if his once before and that I will be fine just make sure it does not happen again and to monitor my pain so now I can only have Gatoraide to drink and nothing else for a few days to make sure i don't have a leak , has anyone experience this before ?????? The pain is unbearable

Well I didn't have a four year old jump me but my sister in laws little Maltese planted all four of her paws of steel right on my largest incision.  She took a running jump from the couch, flew airborn for a second and drilled me.  I thought I would faint.  That little dog won't even jump off the couch she is so tiny but she stuck her landing on my drain and incision.  A perfect 10.  So when I,had my one week check my surgeon asked me if I had been jumped on by either a dog or a child.  He said happens all the time.  I told him about Abby's flying Wallenda just amazed he asked me first.  He said I was lucky. It is usually a Labrador that does that.  I just had a 6 lb. Maltese.  Hope all is well with you.  Kids are sometimes too enthusiastic.

You say the pain is unbearable?  I vote you head back to the hospital to get medical help until the pain is bearable.  Then, I would also consider requesting a second leak test to ease any doubts.   Better to be on the safe side.

I agree, if pain is unbearable, you should go to the ER.  And I'm not sure why the surgeon wants you to drink Gatorade if he thinks it might have caused a leak.  Seems like it would be wise to do a leak test if that is a concern.  I would probably go to the ER.

I "third" that advice.  If the pain meds they sent you home with are not enough to control the pain, and you are still hurting a significant amount of time after the event, go to the ER.

I agree!! If you are in that much pain go to the ER. Better safe than sorry.

I am concerned for you and also for your 4 yr old.  He must be scared to death that he hurt his mom.  I hope that he has been comforted and loved on and reassured.  Just that kids are so very impressionable and that would be a horrible guilt trip for the little guy to carry for the rest of his life.

My surgeon said if I had pain that was NOT controlled by my pain meds, I should come to the ER.....
