Get the sashimi--it's pure protein and small portions which is great early out. I was very happy with a little soy sauce and salmon or tuna sashimi.

Now that I'm further out, I do order hand rolls instead of maki or other big rolls. Just enough rice without it being overwhelming, IMO. 😉

Thanks! I don't know why I didn't think about Sashimi, I love Salmon Sashimi. If only these types of restaurants posted nutritional facts somewhere I'd be in heaven!! We are going to a Japanese restaurant tomorrow night for our daughter's birthday, so now I know what I'm getting :D.

I am 3 months out too. June 6. When was yours? I am down 54lbs so far. Well when I eat hibachi, I order a kids size and still only eat half of the shrimp/veggies. I won't eat sushi because carbs (rice) are instant vomiting for me. When I eat Chinese, I like eggdrop soup and pork egg foo young (egg omelet with veggies and meat) with a little gravy to make it go down smootly. If I go to a Chinese buffet, I eat chicken on a stick, soup, green beans, shrimp, fruit for dessert. I certainly eat completely different than before surgery, but not by choice. If I try to eat anything fatty, fried, carby, or sweet, I throw up. Eating out is still a struggle to find stuff that won't make me sick, but it so much better than that horrid liquid/puréed diet I was in for 6 weeks! Good luck!
