I can remember working those long shifts - definitely not fun. Maybe you can incorporate some simple form of exercise into your daily routine - like the old advice of parking farther away, taking stairs instead of elevator, etc. You know the routine with eating. Pack yourself your healthy options to carry with you, focus on the protein. You've done it for a year and did a great job. You can do it again and get to where you want to be. I know you can do it! And perhaps on a day off you can get in some more exercise. GOOD LUCK (even though luck has nothing to do with it, just hard work and taking one day at a time).

If it were me, I would keep protein rich snacks on hand so carbs are not a temptation. And 12 hour shifts or not--you still have 12 hours in which to exercise. I would give up an hour of sleep (which I regularly do) in order to exercise because it is so critical to long term success and health.
Don't forget to hydrate like crazy, too! That can really help!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

You are in a great position to get back on track and be successful!!! You haven't gained that much back and you are frustrated and worried. Your tool is still working, as you said, so just get back to the basics. Protein first, low carb, lots of water. I would seriously try to exercise on the days you aren't working and maybe one of the days that you are. You can do this! It's not too late!!!
