Does Medicare Cover The Psych Charges?

Hi

Here is some more info:

- I have already had the psych eval and the surgery

- My program sent me to the psych. She is in the same building as my surgeon. 

- My psych does not accept any insurance...none. Her charge is $500.00 with a $140.00 discount = $360.00. 

- I had to pay before the eval.

- I am happy but would like to be reimbursed every nickel for which I am entitled.

Then you will probably receive 80% of whatever the Medicare approved amount is (which depends on the CPT code used) if she is a Psychiatrist.  If she is a Psychologist, they will likely pay you less.

PS: my secondary insurance is BCBSIL they usually follow Medicares decisions/policies.

Hello,

 

My husband had a 4 hr session with dr's psych,nurt,physical, elva and NO the medicare didnt cover it we had to pay the full $750 our selfs.And we live in FL.I hope this helps answer your question some,but call your medicare 2nd plan.we have aarp united health care.
