Certainly we can. I don't think they would be doing RNY on anyone if RNY folks could never again absorb antibiotics.

I just finished a z pack and noticed no difference from effectiveness than

HW333--SW 289--GW of 160 5' 11" woman. I only know the way I know & when you ask for input/advice, you'll get the way I've been successful through my surgeon & nutritionist. Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I was told we don't absorb capsules so I always ask for chewables or tablet form. sometimes we absorb antibiotics all at once or not as well as we should. If you go a few days with no relief, call the doc and get another form.

My understanding is caps are absorbed so long as the substance inside is not in oil and is in powder form. The capsules themselves break down very quickly when wet.
