Broke down and took ibuprofen!!!
I CONDEMN THEE!! Nah, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I would take one when I would pull or strain a muscle. When I take ibuprofen, it is the only time I can feel my old stomach. It irritates the lining of the old stomach. I would not take it consistently though. You may have to look into Tramadol. Tramadol can be good, but it can make you sleepy and is a narcotic...So be careful. I also take a baby aspirin (81 mg) for my heart...With food. Go see your doctor and see what options are available.
OUCH .. heel spurs HURT ..I had them pre-surgery and I am glad I have not had to deal with them since... I can understand your plight.... I am on prophylactic Famotidine since surgery and too have taken the occasional Ibuprofen for pain AMA (against medical advise) KNOWING that it is contraindicated so no condemnation here ... just don't make this a habit or try not to repeat because it CAN cause adverse effects on the pouch AND on the remnant stomach. I would consult with your managing physician ASAP re pain management as you plan to do .... Feel better! I know easier said that done especially when we have to walk on those painful spurs ... did you try icing your feet?
My Dr put me on CARAFATE so I could take aspirin for my afib along with other blood thinners. He is concerned with the inside staple seam of my new pouch. After 90 days on CARAFATE I am allowed a coated 81 baby aspirin without a protector.
I still have all my pain killers I had to get before my operation. I hope I don't need them.
Good luck to you.

I think because you are on the protonpump in hibitor you will fare better. I wouldn't make that a habit because I would hate for you to experience an ulcer in your pouch or in your small intestine. I take Ultram (Tramadol) as a substitute for my pain management. Even that the surgeon wanted me taking a protonpump inhibitor - I'm sorry you were hurting so much . :( I hope you find a workable solution. Remember you can't take that 800 mg daily and still be okay now. Just be careful!
Are you sure they are heel spurs? If you're not, you may have plantar fasciitis. In that case a cortisone shot can give you some relief. so if you have not done so, I would reccomend going to see a podiatrist and getting checked out. I have that problem and have to get the shots in my heel.
Just a thought in case you have not been to a foot doctor.

Totally agree with this and with asking for some Tramodol, too!
