Iron/protein Question checking in really

So at my 3 month my iron was a little low but ferratin was okay. I know its like savings in a bank so my PA and I decided it was probably because it was TOM for me when I had labs drawn.  I have another lab pull in about a month or so and since then I have just taken an extra iron every other day while on my period.  I am hoping that works out.  Any reason that would be an issue?  Its tender iron and doesn't seem to be bothering me.  Also seems to help with the tired I get during.  I am also taking an extra (3rd) protein on days that I am doing really big workouts since that is why we thought my protein was low.  Thoughts?  below are my labs from back in September

Hemolyzed index-4
Copper- 118
Zinc - 121
Phosphorus - 4.7

Taking extra iron should be fine.  Neither your iron nor your ferritin are bad but they could be higher so more iron should be fine.

Extra protein on days you work out should be fine, too

I notice looking at your labs that your PTH is on the high side, which often means we are leaching calcium out of our bones.  Your vitamin D is low - it needs to be at least 80 in order to absorb calcium fully.  Are you taking D3?  How much calcium citrate are you taking?

And I'm assuming you added some vitamin A?

I added A and E

Calcium I take 1500 a day

D no my  PA said not to because my pre surgery level was 18 :)  and she felt that by the time I came back it would be up to where it should be.  If not we will increase it then.

Your pre surgery level was 18 and she didn't think you should add D3?

Let me be more clear...as that makes us both sound like crazy people..lol

My pre surgery level was 18 so they have me taking Vitamin d3 every day.  At my 3 month labs it had risen substantially but was still low.  At that time my PA did not recommend increasing my dose as the current dose was raising my levels nicely and she wanted to see the 6 month labs to determine if I needed to add more or if it had finally risen to 80.

I hope that makes more sense...LOL

That makes plenty of sense.  Thanks.
