EGD w/ possible dilation scheduled for tomorrow
After a barium test last Wednesday I am scheduled to go in tomorrow for an EGD with a possible dilation. The barium test showed a lot of narrowing between my pouch and lower intestine. My question is this, if this is a stricture, how long until I start to feel better? Anyone who's had this, what was your aftercare like? Could you eat solid food right away? We're hosting a Halloween party Thursday night for the neighborhood and I'm wondering what I can expect as far as eating goes (btw I really miss being able to eat and drink normally). The other question I had is, is it normal to have to wait so long for treatment? I've been absolutely miserable since last Monday night and unable to eat anything and liquids are painful as well. I'm struggling to stay hydrated and have done an awful lot of crying this last week. Needless to say I'm a little irritated with my surgeon for making me wait so long but maybe this is normal procedure?
