You've got some good suggestions. I will add in chap stick for the hospital and a pillow for the ride home.

I would also add my lazy boy. I couldn't sleep flat on my bed, so sitting in my chair with my feet was the best. It felt way better!

My Professional BAMIX immersion blender. LOVE that thing and I use it a LOT! I got it prior to surgery and used it once in a while, but post-op? Man...I take that thing on every trip with me and make shakes for breakfast and at home I use it a good bit, too.

If it broke, I would buy another, that is when I know I have an item I love!

I just got Vitamix this year. I wanted that for a while but the idea of spending so much money on a blender was stopping me.  Now I wished i had bought one way sooner... If you can afford it, and can get at a good price - go for it. I still use my magic bullet for a lot of things, but for larger jobs- or to make sure things get blended really well - Vitamix is great.

Chapstick, SF mints, food scale; I love mine and use it everyday!  I agree with the tumbler cups I drink my protein iced coffee in one each morning.

Some really cool Tervis Tumblers for the massive amounts of water that I try to drink now. . . no more canned drinks for me.  I also got a Vitamix - love it.  Really good protein bars, OH Yeah are my fave.  A nice scale. . .girl, spending money has never been a problem!
