Cereal always makes me dump, I only eat it ocassionally at nearly nine years, I would completely avoid it for atleast the first year.

Special K protein and Cheerios, if you already have already met your protein goals on the Cheerios, were specifically listed in my plan as being ok on the sample menu.

Special K Protein cereal would be a good choice if you must have cereal.  I've had it a few times.

I eat cereal now, but did not eat any before I reached goal. It would have been a trigger food for me.

I'm not a vet, but I want you to know you aren't alone in your cravings.  I LOVE cereal!!!  It was one of my all time favorite meals in the evening.  I will no longer be able to have it because I dump.  I have grieved the loss of my favorite meal and moved on..... Best of luck to you.

I wouldn't try it. I don't recall how far out I was when I tried cereal and milk. One of the few foods that make me sick, sick, sick.

I don't eat cereal but boy did I try.  Reasons I stopped: Even the Special K Protein cereal was too high in carbs/sugar in relation to the calories/protein which would fuel other food cravings for me, keeping me in the unhealthy eating patterns.  I seem to be lactose intolerant even with just a splash of milk. I didn't like skim milk but I couldn't take the 1% or 2%.   Eating anything like cereal or soup where there is both liquids and solids makes me queasy.  It ultimately didn't taste as good as I remembered it being.   As others have said, your mileage may vary.

I have no problem with cereal at all, though it's usually something like a high-quality muesli with just enough milk to moisten it.  Add some nuts and berries (if allowed) and it's a very healthful meal.

I'm probably not the best to reply to this.. But I sometimes crave cereal and I am only a month post-op.. I just grab one flake or a crunch berry and pop it in my mouth.. No harm no foul...I've done this twice.. It's not an everyday thing.. That crunching noise is so annoying and loud..
