How much food you are supposed to be able to eat?  Or how much food  you should be eating?  Those may be two different things.

At four months out, I think I was eating 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup, depending on what the food was.

what does your surgeon's plan say?

3 months out my plans are to keep it at half cup maximum per meal with high protein first any carbs will come from beans or a healthy starch.  Oh- and as little sugars as possible - including sugar substitutes.   My weight is coming off slow enough, I want to help as much as possible.

I am about 4 months out too.  For me, it depends on what it is... I can handle 6oz of Greek yogurt, or 3 oz of chicken/fish, or 2 oz of red meat.  So for me, a solid food meal is about 2-3 oz, or about the size of an egg.

At 3 months out I was on 1/4 cup per meal, 1/2 cup at 6 months, 3/4 cup at 9 months and 1 cup at one year out. We work up to 1 cup to 1 1/4 cup per meal at one year out and

forever thereafter. I still stick to that as a rough estimate for my meals, although this far out most meals are a cup and a quarter. IF you're on protein shakes you're allowed

a bit more for calories per day and amounts. I was never on protein shakes or drinks as per my doc so my meals were solid food from 4 weeks out. Good luck.
