Protein Bars
I am looking to get more protein in, aside from my meat/dairy and Protein shakes. I have been looking at Atkins advantage bars. I see they are somewhat low in Net carbs. I am still in the losing phase at almost 9 months out, and I still want to lose more weight, but I do not want to eat something that may hinder my weight loss. In your opinion, would this be a good brand of protein bar to try, or should I avoid the protein bars all together?
I think Atkins is a good brand. I don't see anything wrong with using protein bars. Like all things, moderation is good.

I tried them at 9 months out but I could never get an entire bar in, still can't. I finally stopped eating them for the most part because I could get more bang for my buck with other things instead of eating half a bar for one "meal" and half for another. If you can get them in I see no reason not to.
I have been using the Premier bars from Costco since about 4-5 weeks out from surgery. I only eat half a bar at a time/per day and I only have them on days I cannot get all of my protein from food, about 3-4 days per week usually. I don't use protein shakes (don't like them).
I will be 10 months out on Jan. 12th and have been losing weight consistently every week so far.

I know you are further on than I but I have been approved for protein bars since 2 months. I love Atkins Advantage bars but I only eat half at a time. And when I want chocolate! it is completely satisfying and I have no guilt! I think it is a way to stay on plan, eat a sweet thing without guilt but with protein, and not play the mind games with yourself.

I have yet to try them, but I've heard many people say they like Quest Bars.
I am one of them! I LOVE a Quest bars...except lemon. Blech! Apple pie is better than ACTUAL apple pie to me!
