Does NOT QUITTING count as a NSV?

I have never ever ever stuck with any sort of exercise for more than a few months.  Even when I thought I was going pretty well, something would happen like a head cold or a business trip that would interrupt my schedule and I would not get back on track (And gain back the weight, yada yada yada)

Over the holidays there was travel days the gym was closed and such.  I told myself I would keep active... and well, not so much.  I mean, I was more active than my prior slug-like existence, but not to the level I had planned either.  Well, the time came for life to get back to normal... and I didn't feel like going.  Work sucked, I was tired, the gym would be crowded, it was cold... BUT I did it.  I drug my sorry butt in there and did it.  Maybe I can do this healthy stuff after all...

Sometimes, the biggest achievement you can have at the gym is GETTING YOURSELF TO THE GYM.

Celebrate the small victories! That's my thoughts anyway. Mostly because if I didn't celebrate small victories I wouldn't be celebrating much. Exercise is rough for a lot of folks. Like me. I have arthritis issues that contribute to my natural procrastination of exercise.

So celebrate yourself! Congratulations on staying the course.

Yes Pathchic I call that a Victory.  Anything we can do to overcome what got us fat to begin with is a victory.  Keep up the good work, pre-surgeries like me are watching you guys and learning from you.  Hope to be on your side of the ball soon.

Yes just getting there is a big victory! The starting always seems to be the hardest part-I feel great when I am finished! Just keep plugging along and you will get there!

Some days, especially after I had a surgical procedure done, it was a major goal just to walk in the door of the gym and sit there and rest, just to stay in the routine of going to the gym, even though I was not cleared to exercise yet. So, yeah, def. a NSV
