This is not easy /////////
All this protein drinks and protein bars ,for my pre op man I told my husband this is hard to do ,but I will do it BUT. It is not easy.
I can have sugar free jello and sugar free Popsicles and this weather -10 it's hard to get more than one down. LOL
So how was your prep was it as hard as I seem to making it out to be and it is only my 2nd day....
Pre-op is hard! I had two weeks of those meals, plus yogurt.
Day 1 I had a headache and day 2 and 3 I was grouchy. By day 4, I felt really good. I felt lighter. I realized, this is life without being so full after a meal that I can barely get off the couch :) it was a good feeling. It was also a great way to segue into post-op-land!
My advice to you, go on amazon and buy this book. http://www.amazon.com/Bariatric-Foodie-Perfect-Protein-Drinks-ebook/dp/B00BMVSSXW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389121559&sr=8-1&keywords=bariatric+foodie+guide+to+perfect+protein+shakes
It saved me! I was just adding protein powder to milk or water and shaking it up. The premise of this book is that you don't have to hate your shakes or get tired of them or only have them cold. The recipes in here are awesome. I learned about PB2 (also on amazon) which is powdered peanut butter that I add to shakes - tons of protein and low fat. I also got Da Vinci sugar free mint syrup that I add to chocolate shakes. You can even add sugar-free pudding dry mix to shakes. Seriously, I recommend it.
Good luck! I lost 40 lbs between 2 weeks pre=op and two weeks post-op and I feel that already! It's a wild and tough ride, but amazing!

That sounds like such a great resource and I've never heard of it! I love getting creative with food and concocting new things. I still do shakes almost every day for breakfast on my work commute so I will have to check it out. We've come up with some great veggie and fruit recipes, but my fav is one that we made with 50g protein and taste just like a Reese's! Thanks for sharing!

It usually gets easier after three or four days. But no, it's not easy. Just stay focused on your goal. It's hard but you can get through it.

My hardest days were day 2-4 where I just wanted to die as my body DTed off carbs, sugar, caffeine etc. After that it was much easier. By the second week I didn't need the "extras" sf jello, broth, etc at all and I was satisfied. Head hunger was a whole other ballgame though and it does good to recognize it right away.
Like I just posted Not easy and it is sooo cold and only protein powder with 8 ounces of skim milk , protein bar , that taste like u know what. But yea I am eating it at least I have to chew it. Haha. I have a call in to see if I can have some broth cause I can not get warm. They r going to call back.
And I am looking at the end game trust me that is where my HEAD is and thank you you all make me feel better , I was hoping it just wasn't me .
BUT I CAN DO IT.
Just needed to VENT

Third day to 22 nd day was a breeze! First two days were rough. By tomorrow, you should be feeling great though! And bars pre-op sounds good to me, I was liquids only!
